I became physically disabled with MCS in June 1987, when I was 30 years old. However, the doctors have now traced it back to when I was in childhood. My health is constantly in a state of fluctuation - either improving or going worse. I can be bedridden unable to feed myself or even turn over in bed without help or I can improve to be able to walk 3 miles over rough terrain, and do some of my own cooking and housework. My health constantly fluctuates between these states - fighting for survival or thriving.
The key factor for me is the consistancy of the quality of the air. Currently, I am strong enough to co-own a business with my husband. I also authored a book titled: Convenient, "Safe" and Deadly. I purposely wrote it in an easy-to read format to help the general public understand the basic principles of clinical toxicology. Also two chapters are autobiographical and tell the story of how living in a low-toxicity house literally saved my life.
