Since some symptoms parallel Parkinson’s, it is known as a Parkinson’s Plus disease. As the disease attacks the brain, there is a loss of physical function as well as autonomic functions and memory issues. Unlike Parkinson’s Disease, it tends to be focused on one side. Major symptoms early on include Orthostatic Hypotension causing falls. This is compounded by progressive weakness. Eventually, issues of urinary retention, bowel issues, swallowing, and speaking become the most troublesome.
