Story about Multiple Systems Atrophy , Addison Disease.

I am not sick, I am Ill

Jul 11, 2016

I am not sick, I am ILL

-------------------------

Several times I have found myself in a depressed state. It was easy to fall into depression and difficult to raise myself up from this condition. What I have found is a strength deep inside that I now call upon to accept my Illness. Yet accepting my illness by no means will I allow myself to lay down and wait to die.

I have chosen instead to enjoy my time as best I can. This is the prime of my life and I will not waste it holding pity parties. I encourage all of my fellow patients to do the same. Learn the tools at our disposal that will assist us to enjoy our family and friends especially the little grandchildren we have still the time to spoil rotten.

Write a journal of your experiences with this Illness so your family can read about your days spent fighting this interloper.  I say write your autobiography and share it with family. Who knows your life may be worth showing on the big screen, or a book read by millions?

Do your best to get your/ our story heard, raise money for MSA research for a cure to this despicable le disorder and to fill the MSA Closet with worthwhile items that all patients will need from time to time. Hold workshops for patients so they know what is being made available for their use. Workshops to learn how to speak to our doctors so they understand MSA, and the pharmaceuticals they have to help us manage our symptoms. When the time comes have in our wills the following, to donate our brain for further study and confirmation we have MSA.

At some point soon, we all need to come together, all 15k to 50 K of us and join hands to fight this disease. What we build on that day must stand and with the help of God it will live as long as necessary until cures are found for MSA P & C, and all Neurological diseases. This is a mighty challenge. No matter what our current condition, we must find the strength to do fundraisers building from within and adding layers as we build, us, family, friends, corporations, colleges, Institutions for higher learning and society as a whole.

Last comment, we must discuss with our senators and representatives the holes in Medicare, Social Security, Veterans Administration, Health Insurance that our patients fall threw and receive little to no assistance.

Sincerely,
