Year Condition Began: 2018

In September 2018 I had a 20 lb. unintentional weight loss in a month. At 5’7” I went from 135 to 115 which was alarming and intense pain started just below and under my left ribs.I was so nauseated from pain I could not eat. I was hospitalized and had every test known to man. Misdiagnosed, wrong treatments, saw many doctors. I had to quit my job and eventually was bed ridden in constant agony. Simply being upright made it all worse and riding in a car was torture. I was prescribed narcotics through a pain clinic but they barely touched the pain. I eventually went to Mayo Clinic since no doctors could find the cause of my pain. I had my ct scans sent there and they diagnosed me with nutcracker syndrome. No doctors I had seen previously knew to look for it on the ct scans. I joined nutcracker support groups on Facebook and the supportive people gave advice and guided me to surgeons who specialize in nutcracker syndrome. These transplant surgeons moved my left kidney to my right pelvis which completely elevated my symptoms. My surgery was done in May 2019 at UW Madison, Wisconsin.
