Story about Parkinson , Dystonia Disorder.

I Feel Blessed.

Dec 2, 2

I am a wife, mother and grandmother born in 1949. I was diagnosed in 2004 by a Neurologist and a Neurologist- Movement Specialist. Going back through my medical records, I had tremors since 1987. I have dystonia of the feet and calves as well. In 2004, I had a major stroke and was paralyzed on my left side. It took a year of Physical Therapy to regain 99% back. I feel strongly about spreading the word about Parkinson's Disease as we traveled throughout parts of the United States.  I can no longer travel as we use to. I give seminars in the area where I live. My husband Larry, (married 49  and plus yrs.) is my best friend. He is a retired Marine and I was married to him before he joined in 1967. I am fortunate to have the support of my family and friends.  Parkinson's Awareness is important to me. I exercise, ride a 3 wheel tricycle and meditate. I shuffle quite a bit when I walk. I believe in having a positive attitude. I have a maltese that weighs 9 pounds as my service dog. He is 6 plus years. He has warned me of my iron having an electrical fire before it burst into flames. I can not smell. When I freeze he gets on my feet and digs at them, this helps me to move. If I fall and am unable to get up. He pushes a monitoring emergency button and they send an ambulance. Yes, God has truly blessed me and I am thankful.
