Shannon's interview
How did all start?
I’ve had “visual snow” since I can remember
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Tinted glass to prevent headaches
What have been your biggest difficulties?
When I was a child, I found reading with the static interference extremely difficult, after a couple years I was able to adjusted and adapted.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
Nothing has changed in this aspect
What things have you stopped doing?
Nothing, I still do everything
What do you think about the future?
The future... humm.
I’m a artist and has always painted without adding my “visual snow effects”.
Now I’m going to paint the world through my eyes, static and all
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
Best years?
All the years I’ve experienced
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
N/A
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Unique.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
My VS only comes with static and headaches.
Others have found this stressful and disorienting in ways.
My advice would be, sleep.. sleep well. Helps with keeping migraines down to a minor headache. Try tinted glasses, it does not remove the static by any means, but if you suffer from migraines due to VS it may be helpful.
Last but not least, if your having stress or anxiety due to VS, try to distract yourself. Socialize, hobbies, sports, anything that interests you to avoid focusing on the “snow or static”
