This profile is for my son Dominic. He was born May 29, 2011. From the time he was a month old I could tell something was different. I fought with his pediatrician for months! Finally when Dominic was 9months old the doctor referred us to a Neurologist. We were blessed with a Neurologist who had seen other children with Angelman Syndrome. The doctor called us the day before his 1st birthday to confirm Angelman Syndrome. Dominic started therapy around 9 months old and continues with therapy 5 days a week. He has come so far since his diagnosis and we are so very proud of him. He can now wall, run, stand up, sit down, open doors, climb gates, says a few words, and can express many emotions. He know what he likes and what he doesn't and he will let you know. He can feed himself for the most part and is working on a big boy cup. He surprises us every day with something new. He loves water and plastic crinkling bags. He does have seizures but they are under control for the most part. He does pretty good with sleep although he does have trouble some nights. If you'd like to talk please feel free to message me. --Amanda, mom
