For those of you who travel, what kinds of steps do you take to ensure access to medical treatment during your trip? If you're part of OnePath, do case managers coordinate serivces for you? What happens if you're traveling internationally? Do you still get the same services? What kinds of services does OnePath provide for travel (connecting you to physicians, ER dept, infusion services, etc.)?
When I travel, I make sure I take the correct amount of medication (Cinryze) for the doses I'll need while away, plus a few extra. I also take a one or 2 doses of my emergency, break-through attack medicine. I carry it on if flying, and have never had a problem. I do take a letter of explanation and pack it with my medications. This letter is available on the HAEA website. I infuse myself, so I do not have to worry about locating an infusion clinic. OnePath helps in so many ways. They can help run interference if I need more to order medicine on short notice, and they provided a very handy travel kit to pack medication. I traveled internationally last year and again, no problems occurred with any of the travel.
