How did all start?

I was born with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve and would be check every few years. In 2017 they found the Aortic Aneurysm and diagnosed me then.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

Yes I do I was given the diagnosis right away.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Asking my doctors questions along the way.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Just worrying about when and/if I will ever need surgery.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

They have been supportive.

What things have you stopped doing?

I haven't really stopped doing anything but I do try and eat a healthier diet now.

What do you think about the future?

I worry about surgery and if my life will be shorter.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

I am doing everything the same.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Know that you are not alone and that there is support out there.
