Is it safe to have chemo for Lymphoma less than 8 months after my aorta dissection?
I would have 200 questions that needed to be answered before I said anything at all your 1/4 of a line question just wont cut it, I would suggest that YOU begin BY asking the cardio thoracic , or Cardiologist that Manages your situation. 1st I dont know if your issue was caused by genetics or huypertension or some Other factor (disease) as just an example.... and I /we have no idea what other medications your taking a) for issues related to the dissection and all that goes with it, or Those you take to Maintain your general health (up until you get to the Chemo) or any other potential medication you might be taking (includin Over the counter stuff) and Your physicans would be silly to suggest "they know the answer off the top of they're heads without knowing what you take and for what issues The Aorta is divided into 4 "main segments" and the closer to the heart and arch the more problematic the issue of dissection can be because blood flow can affect the brain eyesight mobility of the arms and Uppper body incuding the organs in the thoracic cavity, the down side (descending aorta) can affect the blood flow to the stomach and liver kidneys and bowels, panreas Gall bladder and can affect your long term health in that manner it can and will also affect blood flow to the legs and your ability to walk so your talking some serious issues here ... very important to contact your most knowledgable cardio doctor and bring your concerns to him or her and even have them get in contact with your Other doctor to discuss potential issues.. Mind you I have never had chemo for any reason (yet) I have a daily course of 8 medications and a couple of suppliments that I take and they even affect Any oTC type things I might take especially use caution with things that will raise your BP if your hypertensive and are on Meds for Hypertension, No matter what Even a phone call to or from The doctor to discuss the cardio meds and chemo meds ... Do NOT Just ignore the issue at all... Good luck perhaps getting the doctors to do a 3 way call with you (I doubt it would happen but worth a try )
