When growing up i always seemed to have bother with my right ear i had the leaking/drainage for a long time and was always just given the drops/antibiotics etc, i had also lost most of my hearing in this ear. When seeing the GP he then informed me " this may be something you have to live with" so as a teenager i decided to leave it and deal with it. Until one day i felt a lot of pressure in my ear and demanded to be referred to ENT. CT scan was done and cholesteatoma confirmed. I am now awaiting surgery and I am due to go for surgery in 3 weeks time. Every day is becoming a struggle worrying about the outcome worrying about facial nerve been affected and my hearing after surgery.
