How did all start?
I was born with it, my mother noticed and through trial and error figured out it the cold triggering reactions
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
I was diagnosed when I was 15
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
My allergist was the one who diagnosed me and advised me to take antihistamines.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
A battery operated heatable jacket and gloves.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Realizing that my condition is hereditary and vowing to never have children so my condition in my family will end with me.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
For the most part, friends and family forget about it, but my mother and father have become for worried about my condition when we found out it can kill me.
What things have you stopped doing?
Even thinking about touching snow.
What do you think about the future?
The future is myteryous and thats the fun part. I don't think my condition will cause any obstacles expect from the obvious ones.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
My junior year of High School, just because I finally found people I was friends with and didn't feel any awkwardness or need to censor myself
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Build a snowman
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
I live a pretty normal life expect from the fact I'm allergic to the cold.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Don't be afraid to be called a liar or crazy, because no one knows your body more than you.
