My story started when I broke my calcaneous (heel) on April 17th 2015. put in plaster but had to have it removed because it was too painful, they put me in a boot instead. It just didn't seem to heal and was still very sore and swollen after 3-4 months, but sore in my ankle not my heel! I went to the Dr as I was getting so down with the pain and the Dr diagnosed crps. I was sent to a physio for an intensive 8 week course which did improove my movement but not the swelling or the pain. I was also given an anti depressent. 6 months now and the swelling hasn't gone and I can only stand or walk for short periods. I am working as a teacher aide in the mornings and a librarian in the afternoons which suits me well as I can sit when I need to. Very depressing knowing that I will probably have this for the rst of my life!
They now think I have had this since I was 18 I'm 52 now. I had very similar problems then in my neck but nobody could work out what was causing the pain. Then about 3-4 years ago I had to leave a full time job because of the pain in my feet also same symptoms. It is a nasty debilitating disease that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!!
