Basics

Diagnosed in February 2011. Optic nerve sheath fenestration in May and June to save vision. Guinae pig with meds...allergies, bad side effects, or simply provided no relief. Lumbar punctures everyvtwo weeks for relief until February 2013 when I got a LP shunt. Two revisions, tubing refused to stay where placed...constant leaks, infections, and horrible backbpain where shunt was. Continued with tons of MRIs, CTs, and LPs. Shunt removed in December of 2015, followed by massive infection. MRV two weeks ago showed stenosis. Cerebral angiogram today...pressure insidecarteries and veins are within normalblimits, so I do not qualify for a stent. Next step is a VP shunt.

I am 2mm less than needed to be confirmed Chiara. I now have seizures, fainting spells, memory lapses, short term memory loss, countless falls, can no longer drive, use a cane or walker to get around, developed depression, am agitated with everyone and everything. When this started, I was one of the top three students in nursing school with a 4.0 GPA. Now I can't understand what people are sayingvto me, or what I read.
