A Lichen Planus interview , Peripheral Neuropathy.

Alwayswinetime's interview

How did all start?

I'm not really sure. Either an abnormal immune response to an infection, antibiotics, or stress. Maybe a combination.

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

It took over 2 years to get a diagnosis, at that point I had scarring.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

Warm baths, clobestrol ointment, ice packs, lidocaine.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

Getting the pain under control

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

My family and friends have been supportive.

What things have you stopped doing?

I'm not able to be as physically active as before because it causes a flare up. I can't wear jeans. Can't use bath bombs or bubble bath. Can't shave.

What do you think about the future?

It worries me that I won't be able to get my pain down, living life in pain forever makes me feel depressed. Im worried about it affecting my relationships.

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

Try your best to limit stress, and don't be too embarrassed to reach out (support is so important.) Remember that you're more than your condition, and take it one day at a time.
