Story about Narcolepsy , Narcolepsy.

My Dystonia Journey

Feb 28, 2016

I was 56 and was in good health and working when I went to check my mom into an inpatient Rehab facility in June 2013.  I weighed about 155 and as I went to sit down in nurses office I was about 2 inches from seat when I touched the chairs wooden armrest.  At that moment the chair collapsed and the arm I was touching fell and the wood piece on front both twisted and pulled my arm behind me and threw me to the floor on the right side of my face.  At the time I thought I was just shook up from the fall. I started getting migranes and neck spasms and felt like I had a vice grip from ear to ear.  I went to chiropractor and family Dr who referred me to pain mgmt Dr who treated me horribly.  I think she thought I was seeking pain meds. I had seen so many drs by then.  I finally found a Dr who told me that she would be with me until we figured out what was going on.  By October I had an eight week migraine and neck spasms so bad that I could not work. Through MRIs I found I had a 40 percent tear in my rotator cuff. In December I went to the ER again with migrane and he wrote dystonia as the diagnosis. By this time it was affecting my tongue and swallowing and I dropped down to 109 pounds.   I finally got that confirmed in February and received my first botox in April 2014. The 3rd time I went for botox injections the Dr could see it was now in my eyes and face meaning that I have meiges syndrome and had to see a different neurologist who can botox my eyes and face.
