How did all start?
I thought I had COVID while on vacation in Washington D.C. with body aches, fever and naseau.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
I started feeling poorly on Monday evening and by Wednesday it was raging with the spot on my back growing fast and getting enflamed.
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Emergency surgery by Dr. Blake Conklin with serious debridement.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Knowledge.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Pain management.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
So, so supportive. No, I haven’t seen any relationship changes, yet.
What things have you stopped doing?
Going out so much, I’ve become a bit of a germaphobe.
What do you think about the future?
Im positive.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
My 50’s. Traveling with my wife and enjoying my 10 grandchildren is most fulfilling.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
Get in the pool and start losing weight,
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
Complete and fulfilling.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Stay positive and draw inspiration from everything life has to offer. Don’t dwell on your challenges and live a life with an attitude of gratitude.
