Started with extreme fatigue and rapid weight loss. Took several months to get a diagnosis. Began to have hearing problems, vestibular problems, and developed caudia equina (lower spine problems) which affected ability to stand, walk, neurogentic bladder & bowel.
Trip to Mayo Clinic validated diagnosis and commenced large dosage of solumedral for an extended period. Condition stabilized and marginally improved. Six years after onset had visual problems in left eye requiring me to increase prednisone dosage for 90 days then taper for 90 days to return to 10mg per day. Vision returned but the increased dosage aggravated blood sugars and produced other problems. Still trying to get back my energy.
