Born anosmic (as far as I can tell)
Found out I was anosmic when I was about 15 years old.
There is no apparent reason for my anosmia. As far as I can tell I am the only person in my family with this disabillity. I have 3 children the two oldest I know have a sense of smell, I don't know about the youngest yet (she is too young to be able to tell me). Based on these observations I assume my anosmia is not genetic.
I have lived now for 42 years and managed not to poisen myself or blow up the house with my gas stove. I have only had minor mishaps, mostly having to do with burned food or feces ;)
I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which reduced the viral load initially.
