Hello to All! My name is Michele! I am a 52 year old gal who started at the age of 13 pulling my eyebrow hair off...or should I say plucking!!  Did that & I would pull the hairs out of my legs all thru Jr High & High School....On into my 20's......Started on my eyelashes.......& eyebrows too! In my 30's I was just in that same routine....But....Internet had come about and I discovered that what I was doing had a name!  Then towards the end of my 30's ....My 8 year old daughter wanted to live with her Dad.  Devastating!  Alone now in the house after she had been gone a few months...I was all alone.....This is when I started to pull my head hair out.  It started at the crown ...A year later and I had to start wearing hats or scarves.  My 40's consisted of shaving it off for the first time so I could not pull. Wigs....Look's....Always a scarf.........We at about 43 my life got extra busy....I didn't seems to have time to pull Or even think about it!  First time hair regrow was wonderful...Proud of myself....I did it!  Then things slow down ....I thought I could fight it......Was not able too though.....Again I was bald after having hair for about 2 years!  Fought it again for about 2 years.....Again I did it!  Made some changes in my life and it helped.  Now at 53....Close to 40 years of pulling.....I again had to start over....No hair......Wigs and scarves...AGAIN.  But again I have fought it and won again. Bad thing Is the relapsing and not thinking you can deal with it...but you do!  Trichotillomania is in my world every day....It will never go away completely. ...But I'm still working on that!
