My Story

Jan 2, 2017

By: Amy

I used to be in great shape running 6 miles 6-7 days a week and working out at the gym 3-5 days a week. I started having breathing difficulties that progressively got worse and worse over the next few weeks then months until I ended up in the hospital. It was found that I had pneumonia and streptococcus in my lungs as well as the Mononucleosis (mono) virus. During this period of time I started having slight pain in my left ear. It was like having a headache all of the time. A throbbing, burning sensation. The pain grew in intensity everyday. It went from just in my ear to my jaw to my eye but always and only on my left side. Then about 2 years after the initial pain started I started having "attacks" of pain. This pain is like lightning strikes in my jaw and left eye. I now have them every single day multiple times a day. My "normal" day consists of dull but painful left side face and scalp pain on my left side as well as about 30-100+ strikes if sharp stabbing pain.
