I'm not going to go into details but I'd been an alcoholic ever since I had my first drink as a kid. it got totally out of control when my partner died in 1995. I stopped in 2010. The damage was done though. Years of just sitting & drinking meant my leg muscles had atrophied & id given myself Cereberal Ataxia by destroying that part of my brain! I'm still having physiotherapy to this day. My coordination is terrible. My balance is even worse. I've had my home adapted to help my condition. A walk in shower, carers twice a day & my lifeline, a 4 hour take out call once a week. To go with a carer wherever I want. If it weren't for that I'd be stuck in mostly as I don't drive. I do have a scooter with a range of 12 miles but I can't see the point in taking it out just for the sake of it. So I guess I'm pretty much housebound. I have a shop next door thankfully, for essentials. I do my PT everyday. Take my pain killers. A load of supplements I could tell you about. And more than anything, a great supportive family & friends. Only recently I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which is equally as debilitating.
