How did all start?
I was diagnosed with Cavus Foot
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
No, we don’t know when I developed it but I was diagnosed in 2015
For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?
Cavus Foot and Hip Dysplasia, reconstructive surgery for both
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
Physical therapy and Facebook support groups
What have been your biggest difficulties?
Stairs, writing for long periods of time
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
No, all of my family and friends are very supportive and help me through so much
What things have you stopped doing?
I don’t run or jump, I don’t play sports because of doctor recommendations and orders
What do you think about the future?
I will continue with my future as I do now, doing everything anyone else would do
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
My high school years have been the best. My friends and family have been the best support system anyone could have
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I miss playing sports a lot
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
I embrace my Freedom and Uniqueness
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Don’t stop doing everything because of this, work to achieve your dreams and don’t treat this as an obstacle, treat it as an opportunity
