Story about Endometriosis , CRPS Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

My Story

Dec 13, 2015

By: Ciara

My name is Ciara. I'm 19 yrs old and received my diagnosisof Endometriosis in 2014 after 9 years of suffering. I went to so many doctors looking for answers and for help, but not many understood. I've had 4 surgeries for the Endometriosis so far. I also was diagnosed with Adenomyosis. After being diagnosed I started trying all of these different therapies and treatments and nothing was helping. I decided to go the holistic route and switched to acupuncture, traditional Chinese medication, and meditation. I still will have surgeries in the future, but this route has helped- no doubt about it. I started running a website and a blog after spending so much time researching the disease. I wanted to make something positive out of it, because it became so easy to be negative. Luckily, I've been able to keep a positive mindset and touch a few lives along the way. For that, I am so greatful.

During one of my Endometriosis surgeries there was an IV complication that resulted in a severely thrombosis vein in my wrist, which had to be excised and lead to my developing CRPS in my hand, which has spread up my arm and is now developing in the other hand as well. I am now getting weekly Stellate Ganglion Nerve Blocks and am in pain management and physical therapy. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this, but I am taking it one day at a stone and am trying to stay positive despite the pain.
