A Lipedema interview , Mastocytosis and MCAS.

basha462's interview

How did all start?

puberty. I didn't realize it was lipedema until 15 years later...but I did realize that my human experience was different than everyone else. nobody had my proportions, and everyone I knew had the ability to lose weight..

Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?

15 years. I just got the diagnosis about 3 months ago

For what medical specialties have you been treated? What has been the most useful specialty for your?

every. endocrinology, vascular, cardiac, nutritionist, PA, MD, homeopathic, /ND. and the only ones that were helpful was the vascular doctor for the diagnosis, and the naturopathic/integrative doctor for the treatment. nothing else in any combination worked.

What has been the most useful thing for you so far?

naturopathic medicine. having proper blood work is not even enough. you have to have proper blood working testing-and then analysis by an integrative/holistic/naturopathic doctor.

What have been your biggest difficulties?

getting a diagnosis and losing weight. to this day, that has not been accomplished.

How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?

they haven't changed much, other than maybe they're more understanding of what's going on with me. they're still pretty judge and dont accept anything the ND has to offer me-which is the only thing that has been useful.

What things have you stopped doing?

stopped being in agonizing bafflement. I've also sworn off sugar to help my IR.

What do you think about the future?

no idea whatsoever. nothing has helped so far, and even though I have every faith in my proper treatment, I will not believe anything until I see it. so far, I see no improvements.

So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?

early childhood. not great past 8.

What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?

wear better clothes, do gymnastics, be more naked, feel more free, take care of it more-as it would be like a shiny trophy.

If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?

not what I thought

Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?

GO TO A NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR WHO KNOWS HOW TO TREAT LIPEDEMA!
