In 2007 I came down with Transverse Myelitis at the same time I was going through a very difficult divorce. Unfortunately, none of the agony of the divorce could be set aside to deal with my debilitating symptoms. I had no idea how I was going to get through this, but I was determined to work through this heartbreaking time by taking one step at at time, one day at at time. I tried to continue working by taking an easy job, but I was completely exhausted by the end of each day. Then, after having a substantial recovery from Transverse Myelitis, I had to go through it again when I developed adult onset asthma. Because of that, I had to take an early retirement. Unfortunately, new symptoms have continued to pop because of Transverse Myelitis. When this has happened, I have had to learn to adapt to them. But fifteen years after the onset, I have a good life. It seems incredible to look back and see that I made it to happy and satisfying times.
