on April 14, 2018, I had a feeling like someone had hit my in my back with a sledge hammer. Having had back issues, I simply thought I had thrown my back out while violently tossing back and forth in bed. I had a couple cups of coffee and an energy drink. Not being able to fall asleep, I tossed and turned. I would also tighten all of my muscles in an attempt to alleviate the wrestles legs. Thinking I had messed up my back, I took a flexural to relieve the pain, after an hour, there was no change. so, I took another flexural. The pain continued to increase over the next hour. So I finally got my wife up and she drove me to the hospital. I was able to walk in under my own power, but once I was attended to, I blank out. next thing I know the nurse is telling me that I am going to get a CT Scan. Next thing I remember is waking up in the ICU, staying for 3 days. My BP the night before was 250/150.
I stayed in the hospital for 6 more days, while the pain subsided (way too many pain meds = hallucinations). the doctors had a hard time finding a regiment of drugs to lower my BP. They sent me home with their best guess. At home I found that I would have a very hard time with the meds. My BP was low and my body not used to it. I must have fallen 20 times in the first month. I had to have my BP meds changed.
Today it is about 9 months later, I still have fear and anxiety. My BP is controlled and normal.
