Story about Myasthenia Gravis .

My son's life changing diagnosis.

Jan 18, 2016

My wife had just delivered our second baby. We had an 18 month old boy who was static to meet his baby sister. Only a month had gone by and my son started to have his left eyelid droopy. We thought it was just a reflex or an eye irritation... after a week of following up with his pediatritian, we went to the nearest hospital, only to find out they couldn't figure out what it was. So we decided to go to Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. After hours of tests and specialist after specialist seeing my son, we got the news he had developed Myasthenia Gravis. It has been a rough road but with the help of God, support from family and great medical care, we have now gotten to a point where his symptoms are completely under control.

During this journey, we encountered a lot of different suggestions, tips and we ourselves had to also be persistent with the different doctors to get him through all the possible exams: Tensilon, Allergies, MRI, Ophthalmology, Neurology, and Infusion. Even though everyone has been great, persistance and being annoying was necessary to get his dates moved up as much as possible. If anyone needs advice, counsil, or someone to talk to... we're here for you, just reach out.
