How did all start?
Diagnosed with a fybroadenoma. I was closely monitored with mammograms and ultra sounds over a 3 month period.
Do you already have a diagnosis? How long did it take you to get it?
I had a lumpectomy on 5/10/2018. Diagnosed with pathology testing.
What has been the most useful thing for you so far?
The Phyllodes support group on Facebook.
What have been your biggest difficulties?
My surgeon did not understand the tumor she removed and didn’t take my margins.
How has your social and family environment reacted? Have your social or family relationships changed?
No changes.
What things have you stopped doing?
I haven’t stopped anything.
What do you think about the future?
I am very concerned this is going to come back.
So far, which years have been the best years in your life? What have you done during them?
All my years are the best.
What would you like to do if you didn’t have your condition?
I haven’t had any real impact at this time by this condition.
If you had to describe your life in a sentence, what would it be?
It’s been a truly wonderful experience and I’m thankful to have live it.
Finally, what advice would you give to a person in a similar situation?
Knowledge is everything... research, read, ask and keep a notebook.
